ConvertData Xtra performs bitwise operations on Lingo values of up to 4 bytes and can be used to visually represent the state of bits in a value. Individual bit values can be tested and set. All of the usual bit manipulation operators can be used from Lingo scripts: AND, OR, NOT, XOR, and bit-shifting left or right. ConvertData is useful for reading or writing values that must conform to a file specification or for interpreting values returned from an API function call. ConvertData is a good companion Xtra for both BinaryIO Xtra and Glu32 Xtra. The free accompanying ConvertData XObject contains some methods not found in the Xtra, such as a method for obtaining Gestalt values and hex/integer conversion. The doc for the XObject is limited to the methods listing.
