How can I save and retrieve user data in Shockwave?

Shockwave will not allow you to access the user's hard drive, except for one directory. This is actually a good thing as it keeps people from creating malicious shockwave applications that could harm your system. If you want to save user data in shockwave use the getPref and setPref commands. setPref prefName, prefValue getPref(prefFileName)
