Inconsistent Buttons

Why do my buttons behave inconsistently, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't?

It is difficult to pinpoint the problem, but here are some thing to check: Check the spelling in the script - most often this is the cause of all problems. Are there 2 scripts conflicting - do you have multiple behaviors attached to the sprite which are telling it to behave in opposite ways? Did you want a cast member script to execute while the sprite had a sprite script is attached? Is there a loop in the frame with a transition - this is a big NO-NO, rather have the loop in the next frame.
