The
new FREE Stagemanager Xtra (Public Beta)
The vision behind Stagemanager is that of a united Director community. When
we started out building Stagemanager we wanted to create a place where every
Director developer could go to meet each other, work and keep updated. Of course
there would be no better place to put this than inside Director itself.
Stagemanager is much more than what you usually expect from an Xtra. Stagemanager
is an interface to the Director community. We are starting in the small but
the aim of Stagemanager is to become the ultimate best friend of any Director
developer.
We have envisioned a future where collaboration between the developers in Director
moves to new frontiers. If you would like to be a part of this future you should
definetely download Stagemanager today and take part in its forming.
Stagemanager Features in the Public Beta:
(1) First of all we thought it would be nice to chat inside Director so we
added a chat.
(2) Then we added a newsreader that lets you tap into the newsstream from thousands
of online news sources.
(3) Then a new improved downloader from Mediamacros - now with search, preview,
(4) A small collection of Xtra tools that will be expanding rapidly as the program
matures.
An alliance between the companies AddGo and MediaMacros, Inc. has ensured that
the Stagemanager Xtra has a bright future. While you are reading this we are
already working on the next set of features that will be part of Stagemanager.
The Crystal Ball
Although no future is ever certain we won't mind telling you a little about
what could be in store for Stagemanager.
The furture could bring an interface that allows you as a website owner to
supply your information to Stagemanager and all its users. This will allow the
users of Stagemanager to stay on top of the news in the business as well as
give them a Director search function across more websites.
The future could also bring an Instant Messenger system that will work just
like ICQ but it will be integrated with the chat and the various functions inside
Director giving you some interesting and so far unseen features.
It is possible that Stagemanager will come to contain some games or interfaces
to some games, which will help the users relax again when some of the few bugs
in Director show up.
Maybe this year we will also see Stagemanager in a version that supports the
interest groups like the game developers, the CD-ROM developers etc. Closed
forums, specialized tools etc. might be part of the package.
Probably you will see interfaces to e-mail, newsgroups and IRC channels.
Certainly the future will bring a whole bunch of tools that will help you develop
your Director projects. If you have a nice tool you would like to see included
in Stagemanager please contact us and we will take it under consideration.
Many more features are under revision and development. You will have to be
patient though, we won't tell you any more about the future right now.
